I went to the James Hotel - restraunt/lounge for my cousins birthday celebration last saturday night. Some how I got into a discussion about the war in Iraq with my cousins. They kept on telling me that "War is needed to end recession." I have heard this before in my History classes, but no one ever told me why? How is it that the destruction of one country's assets is good for another? Is it stealing market share from the other country? Creating demand through destruction? I voted for President Bush in 2000 because he promised that he would reform social security and decrease government spending. In 2004 I voted for the Libertarian party candidate Badnarik because of the 1 Trillion dollar deficit that Bush has allowed to accumulate. People! That is 1 trillion dollars of OUR MONEY. What is it being spent on? Is it an investment in Americas future? Will this money secure the U.S standard of living? (Canada is considered (U.N) to have the highest standard of living in the world to live, how come nobody hates those guys?) What are we doing wrong? Why are we the target of terroists and not China or Brazil? Well I did some cursory research, 15 mins :), and I came up with the following web-sites. I haven't read through them yet, but I will in future and I will post what opinions I have on them.
